The H on the right hand in this picture (left) is partially what is hindering the Giants’ Kung Fu Panda right now. According to Henry Schulman of the San Francisco Chronicle, the injury is pretty common as it has happened to the likes of Ken Griffey Jr, Dustin Pedroia, as well as teammates Mike Fontenot, Mark DeRosa and even Sandoval’s brother Mike.
The surgery is schedule for 12:30 on Tuesday to remove the big blue H as shown above in the hand on the left. 7 weeks is the timeframe Panda’s doctors gave him to return but we know that there will be extra time needed to get back in the swing of things and the adjustment period of hitting with the removal of the hamate bone in his hand.
So that’s an injury 101 for you.
